Srinagar, Mar 12: The Jammu and Kashmir government has ordered the suspension of Mr. Asif Ahmad Bhat, Section Officer in the Agriculture Production Department (Animal, Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries), pending an inquiry into an ongoing CBI investigation.

"Pending enquiry into the matter, Mr Asif Ahmad Bhat, Section Officer, Agriculture production department (Animal, Sheep Husbandry & Fisheries) is hereby placed under suspension w.e.f 07.03.2025 (48 hrs after his arrest)," a government order issued by Shailendra Kumar, IAS Principal Secretary to the Government, Agriculture Production Department reads. 

The suspension has been enforced under Rule 31(2) of the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1956.

Further details on the inquiry and case proceedings are awaited.
