Pahalgam Records Hottest April Day at 27.8°C, Breaking 45-Year Record; Srinagar Logs Second Highest April Temperature in 79 Years

SRINAGAR, April 29:  Jammu and Kashmir witnessed record-breaking temperatures on Tuesday, with Pahalgam and Srinagar registering some of the highest maximum temperatures for the month of April in decades, according to the Meteorological Centre, Srinagar.

At the Tourist Monitoring Office (TMO) in Pahalgam, the maximum temperature touched 27.8°C, setting a new all-time record for the month of April. The previous record was 27.4°C, set on April 28, 1979.

Srinagar also experienced unusually warm weather, recording a high of 30.8°C on April 29, making it the second-highest April temperature ever recorded in the city. The highest April temperature for Srinagar remains 31.1°C, documented on April 20, 1946.
