Shopian Police Recovered Stolen Livestock, Arrested Two Accused

Shopian, July 02:

Continuing its efforts to combat crime and ensure public safety, Shopian Police successfully solved a livestock theft case within hours of its occurrence and apprehended two accused individuals involved in the crime.

An application was received from Muhammad Sultan Teli S/o Gh. Qadir Teli R/o Batpora, Shopian, stating that during the intervening night of 30-06-2025, some unknown persons stole livestock (a cow) from the yard of his residence, valued at approximately Rs. 1 lakh.

Acting swiftly on the complaint, a case FIR No. 146/2025 was registered at Police Station Shopian under relevant sections of law. A special team was constituted to investigate the matter promptly.

Due to timely action and effective investigation, the stolen livestock was recovered the same day, and two accused persons involved in the theft were arrested. The apprehended individuals have been identified as Altaf Mushtaq Ganaie (Alsur) S/o Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie, R/o Meemander and Showkat Ahmad Malik S/o Gh. Nabi Malik, R/o Arhama Shopian

Further investigation into the case is going on.
