Reasi, August 1:
In a tragic incident on Thursday, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Ramnagar, Rajindra Singh Rana, and his son lost their lives after a landslide struck their vehicle in the Salukh Ikhter Nallah area of Reasi district.
According to reports, the SDM was returning to his native village Pattian from Dharmari along with his family and relatives in a Bolero vehicle when the incident occurred. As the vehicle reached a vulnerable stretch near Salukh Ikhter Nallah, a sudden landslide triggered by ongoing rains caused a large volume of debris to crash down on the vehicle.
SDM Rajindra Singh Rana and his son died on the spot. His wife and two cousins sustained serious injuries in the incident.
Local residents, along with police and rescue teams, rushed to the scene and launched a rescue operation. The injured were immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Due to the severity of their injuries, they were later referred to District Hospital Reasi for advanced treatment.
