Anantnag, October 03: Patients visiting the dental section of Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag have expressed frustration over not receiving physical X-ray films after undergoing radiographic procedures. Instead, they are instructed to capture the X-ray images from the computer screen on their mobile phones and then present them to doctors for consultation.
Speaking to Sachnews, patients said this practice causes them considerable inconvenience. “We have to take pictures of our X-rays on our phones and show them to the doctor. Sometimes the image is unclear, and it becomes difficult to explain our problem properly,” one patient said.
When Sachnews reporter approached the X-ray technician at the Dental Section, he admitted that the facility lacks the machine required to print X-ray films. “We don’t have the equipment available to provide films, so patients are told to take images directly from the computer,” the technician explained.
The absence of proper facilities not only troubles patients but also affects the quality of diagnosis, as printed X-ray films are considered more reliable for detailed dental examinations.
Patients have appealed to the concerned authorities to upgrade the X-ray section with proper equipment to avoid further inconvenience.
