AWANTIPORA, December 23:
Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Awantipora Police arrested one drug peddler in Awantipora and recovered contraband substance from his possession.
A police party of Police Station Awantipora
headed by SHO PS Awantipora Inspector Khalid Fayaz during naka checking at Awantipora intercepted a vehicle Innova bearing registration number JK13B-9082. During search, 3.945 Kgms of grinded Poppy Straw was recovered from his possession.
The drug peddler has been identified as Shabir Ahmad Khan son Noor Mohammad Khan, resident of Lethpora.
The accused has been arrested and shifted to the police station for custody. Vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.182/2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
