Wanted criminal evading arrest for two years held in Jammu

 


JAMMU, February 09: A wanted criminal was arrested in Jammu after a two-year hunt, police said on Sunday. 

In a statement police said, in one of the major successes for Jammu Police in action against criminals/Gangsters, the police party of Police Station Bishnah led by SHO Bishnah Sh. Sushil Choudhary under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura and SP Headquarters Jammu successfully apprehended wanted Criminal Surjan Sansi S/o Tilak Raj R/o. Rehal, Bishnah. Surjan Sansi is a history-sheeter , a notorious criminal/ gangster, wanted in several cases including his involvement in the  Akshey murder case of Police Station Ramgarh, Samba. 

He was evading arrest for the past two years, but due to persistent efforts and strategic operations by the Jammu  police, he has finally been taken into custody. 

Further legal proceedings are underway.

Jammu Police is committed to take all measures to curb criminal elements and ensure safety and security of general police and uphold rule of law, police said in a statement.
