Ganderbal Deputy Commissioner Jatin Kishore assured swift relief measures after a massive fire at the main market of Sonamarg and said that the administration has assessed the damages and will submit a report for compensation on Sunday.

"An unfortunate incident unfolded here in Sonamarg yesterday where in many shops were damaged. Our revenue and Fire Services team is here. We have assessed the damage of shops and we will forward the report today so the shop owners can get some relief," DC Ganderbal said.

We are also working towards issues raised regarding fire services in the area. We will work swiftly to set up a dedicated fire service here. We have identified an area where fire services can be set up, he said.
