Banihal, March 07: A tragic accident occurred inside Tube-02 of the Banihal-Qazigund Navyug Tunnel on Thursday night, resulting in the death of a driver.
The deceased has been identified as Sukhdev Singh, son of Bakhtawar Singh, a resident of Pallipora, Punjab. He was driving a truck bearing registration number PB02CR9118 at the time of the accident, Sachnews reported.
Upon receiving the information, local police and rescue teams immediately reached the spot and carried out the necessary procedures. Following the incident, traffic movement was briefly disrupted but was soon restored.
Further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
