Two Drug Peddlers Arrested in Shopian; 700 Grams of Heroin-Like Substance Recovered

Shopian, March 29:

In continuation of the efforts to eradicate the Menace of Drugs from the society,  District Police Shopian arrested Two drug peddlers in the jurisdiction of Police Station Shopian. 

A Police Party from Police Station Shopian on 28-03-2025 evening established a checkpoint at Girward Zawoora, during naka checking, two persons were found in suspicious condition and were apprehended tactfully. The arrested persons discoles their identities as

1. Basharat Ali, Son of Bahadur Ali, resident of Dandoot, Rajouri, 297 Grams of Heroine like substance recovered from his possession.

2. Mohd Mushtaq Thakker, son of Ab Rashid Thakker, resident of Dandoot, Rajouri, 422 Grams of Heroine like substance recovered from his possession.

Accordingly, a case, FIR No. 63/2025 under relevant Sections of the NDPS Act, has been registered at Police Station Shopian. Further investigation is underway to unearth the forward and backward linkages of the arrested individuals.
