Srinagar Sizzles at 30.4°C, Second-Hottest April Day Since 1946; Qazigund at 29.8°C Records Third-Highest

Srinagar, April 15: The Kashmir Valley is witnessing an spike in daytime temperatures, with many stations reporting maximum temperatures 8–11°C above normal levels, as per the latest data from the Meteorological Department.

According to MeT, Srinagar recorded a maximum temperature of 30.4°C on Tuesday, making it the second-highest ever for the month of April. The all-time April high for Srinagar remains 31.1°C, recorded on April 20, 1946.

Qazigund also saw a significant temperature surge, logging 29.8°C, which stands as the third-highest April temperature ever recorded in the region.

  • Kokernag: 27.5°C

  • Gulmarg: 20.7°C

  • Muzaffarabad: 37.5°C

  • Katra: 32.4°C
