Srinagar, June 4: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has announced a 2% hike in Dearness Allowance (DA) for employees working in regular pay levels as per the 7th Pay Commission recommendations. The revised rate, increasing the DA from 53% to 55% of basic pay, will be effective from January 1, 2025.
According to the order, the arrears on account of this additional installment of DA from January to May 2025 will be disbursed in cash in June 2025. Subsequently, the revised DA will be reflected in the monthly salary starting from June.
The order clarifies that "Basic Pay" refers to the pay drawn in the prescribed level of the Pay Matrix and excludes other pay components like special pay.
Furthermore, the Finance Department has directed that any fraction of DA amounting to 50 paise or more shall be rounded off to the next higher rupee, while fractions less than 50 paise will be ignored.
