Udhampur: Four Inter-District Narco Smugglers from Bandipora Arrested; 71.95 Grams of Heroin Recovered, Say Police

UDHAMPUR, July 30:

Police on Wednesday said they have arrested four inter-district narco smugglers hailing from Bandipora and recovered 71.95 grams of heroin from their possession during a routine vehicle checking operation at Tikri Naka Point in Udhampur district. 

Police in a statement said, police team from Police Post Tikri led by its ICPP while performing routine vehicle checking at Tikri naka point, NHW recovered 71.95 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like substance from 04 narco smugglers who were travelling in a vehicle  bearing Registeration No. JK15C-2964 which was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar, who have been arrested. 

The arrested persons have been identified as Mohd. Younis Malla   S/O Mohd Yaqoob.Malla R/O Shilvat, Bandipora.(Driver), Wahid Maqbool S/O Mohd. Maqbool Mir R/O Sumbal, Bandipora, Qaiser Ahmed Ganie S/O Nisar Ahmed R/O Arampora Sumbal, Bandipora and Ahmed Ganie S/O Ghulam Nabi Mir R/O Shilvat Sumbal, Bandipora.

In this connection, a case FIR No. 117/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Rehambal and further investigation is going on, police said in a statement.
