Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi, said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are wholeheartedly prepared to welcome pilgrims arriving from across the country. She praised both the local population and the administration for their efforts in ensuring a smooth and hospitable experience for the devotees.
“Every individual here in Jammu and Kashmir is ready from the heart to welcome their brothers and sisters coming from across Bharat,” Dr. Andrabi said as per Sachnews Jammu Kashmir, adding that the local sentiment is not of hosting guests, but of welcoming family.
Speaking to the media, she noted the remarkable arrangements made at Sonamarg and across the Yatra route. “Sonamarg looks like a bride today—beautifully decorated and prepared. From roads to facilities, everything is in place. The administration has left no stone unturned,” she said.
Dr. Andrabi visited the Number 4 Langar site (community kitchen) and lauded the volunteers and organizations for their dedicated service to the pilgrims. “The Langars are not just a tradition—they symbolize the spirit of service that people from different regions are offering here. The selfless seva being rendered is a testimony to the values of our nation,” she added.
Calling the Amarnath Yatra a symbol of unity and communal harmony, she said, “This pilgrimage is not only significant in India but recognized globally as a symbol of communal harmony. A powerful message of brotherhood goes out from here.”
