Kulgam/Shopian, October 16: Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Police have seized six vehicles and arrested two persons in Kulgam and Shopian.
Police parties of Police Station Devsar and Police Post Mirbazar have seized two vehicles (Tractors) involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals at Mirbazar and Devsar, arrested both the drivers.
Meanwhile in Shopian, 03 tractors, were seized by Police Post Reshnagri operating without valid royalty documents. Similarly, one Tractor was seized by Police Post Berthipora, operating without valid royalty documents.
Accordingly, cases under relevant provisions of law have been registered in respective police stations and investigations have been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with strictly as per law, police said in a statement.
