As winter approaches and daylight hours shorten, social activist Salman Bhat has urged the Municipal Committee Pampore to take prompt steps to repair and upgrade street lighting across the town.
In a press statement issued to Sachnews, Salman Bhat emphasized the need to fix faulty street lights and install new ones, particularly in lanes and by-lanes, to ensure adequate illumination. He also called for the appointment of an experienced electrician within the Municipal Committee to ensure timely maintenance and regular monitoring of the lighting system.
Highlighting the inconvenience faced by residents, Bhat said that poor lighting during Fajr (early morning) prayers and evening hours poses safety and accessibility challenges for the public.
He appealed to the authorities to prioritize the maintenance and expansion of street lighting facilities to ensure safer movement for people during the upcoming winter season.
