Awantipora December 26:
Continuing its drive against persons involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals, Awantipora Police arrested 03 persons & seized 01 JCB and 02 vehicles.
Police party from Police Station Awantipora headed by SHO Awantipora Inspector Khalid Fayaz have arrested 03 persons namely Meheraj Ud Din S/O Ghulam Nabi R/O Barsoo, Nadeem Ahmad Dar S/O Ab Hameed Dar R/o Barsoo Bilal Ahmad andS/O Mohd Ashraf R/o Barsoo and seized ,one JCB and two vehicles (02 tipper JK13-0797 & JK09-8256) involved in illegal extraction of soil/sand at Barsoo.
Accordingly, case vide FIR NO. 185 /2024 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Awantipora and further investigation has been initiated.
Persons found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt with as per law.
