DIG SKR Anantnag inaugurates Police Martyrs T-20 knockout Cricket Tournament in Pulwama

PULWAMA, December 19: DIG SKR Anantnag Shri Javid Iqbal Mattoo-IPS inaugurated Martyr T-20 knockout cricket tournament at Sports Stadium Pulwama. A total of 64 teams from different areas of Pulwama district are participating in the event for the next 40 days.


This tournament is being organized in honour of the fallen heroes of Jammu and Kashmir Police under Civic Action Programme which aims to foster unity, sportsmanship, and youth engagement by providing a platform for local talent to showcase their skills.


This event was also attended by SSP Pulwama Ms. P.D Nitya-IPS, CO 182 Bn, 183 Bn. CRPF, ASP Pulwama, DySP Hqrs, DySP DAR DPL Pulwama, DySP PC Pulwama, SDPO Kakapora, all SHOs  and other officers of district. 


DIG SKR while interacting with the players and other spectators said that J&K Police is at the forefront in organising various sports activities with the sole aim to provide best platform to the youth, so that they can showcase their talent in sports activities and provide them opportunity to prove their mettle at national and international level. These sports activities not only keep the youth physically and mentally fit but also keep themselves away from social evils. 


The event saw a huge turnout of youth and locals, who attended the opening ceremony with great enthusiasm, marking the start of a prestigious tournament that continues to honor the memory of the brave police personnel who lost their lives in the line of duty.
