PAMPORE, January 10:
A woman attempted to end her life by jumping into the Jhelum River saved by Jammu and Kashmir police in Saffron town Pampore area of South Kashmir's Police District Awantipora on Friday, Sachnews reports said.
A young woman (name with held) attempted to end her life by jumping into the Jhelum River at Drangbal, Pampore area. However, the timely intervention of Jammu and Kashmir police officials from the Pampore police station saved her life. The police acted swiftly and rescued the woman, preventing a tragic incident.
Police officials told Sachnews that they received information from locals about a woman attempting to commit suicide in the Jhelum River at the Drangbal Pampore area. A police team from Pampore Station, led by SHO Pampore Naieem Rasheed, under the directions of SDPO Pampore Krishan Rattan, promptly reached the spot and successfully prevented the woman from taking the extreme step.
The officials further mentioned that the woman was handed over to her family members after the intervention.
People of the Saffron town Pampore appreciated the Pampore police, especially SDPO Pampore Krishan Rattan and SHO Pampore Naieem Rasheed, for their timely intervention, stating that the police arrived on time and saved the woman's life.
