Anantnag, April 5:
National Conference (NC) leader and Vice District President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, asserted that the NC is strong enough to withstand any challenge aimed at weakening the party. He said the party’s long legacy of sacrifices stands as a testament to its unwavering commitment to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and its pro-people agenda under sincere leadership.
Shah made these remarks during a day-long tour of Sarnal, Kadipora, and Anzwala areas of Anantnag district, where he met with several public delegations. He urged NC workers to intensify their outreach efforts and ensure that the party’s programmes and policies reach the grassroots.
Emphasizing the significance of the upcoming Municipal and Panchayat elections, Shah called on party cadres to gear up for electoral challenges and mobilize public support.
He also urged the administration to ensure better civic amenities, and to adopt a people-friendly and humane approach in government offices and public outreach programs.
While strongly condemning the recently passed Waqf Amendment Bill in Parliament, Shah said interference in religious affairs is unconstitutional and undermines the democratic fabric of the country.
He accused the BJP of diverting public attention from core developmental issues by implementing suppressive policies aimed at silencing minorities and masking its governance failures. Shah reiterated the National Conference’s strong and unequivocal opposition to the Waqf Amendment Bill.
