BANDIPORA, JUNE 10:
District Police Bandipora, in coordination with an Executive Magistrate, apprehended a group of boys allegedly involved in performing obscene acts in the main market area of Bandipora, following credible inputs from reliable sources.
According to an official statement issued by the District Police Bandipora Media Centre, the incident had been causing public nuisance in the locality. Acting swiftly on the tip-off, a police team reached the spot, took cognizance of the situation, and registered an FIR under the relevant sections of law at Police Station Bandipora.
The police clarified that no girl was involved or apprehended in the case, dismissing speculative and misleading content that had surfaced on social media platforms. Authorities have cautioned media personnel against disseminating unverified or baseless information that could inflame public sentiment.
“The public is advised not to pay heed to any false rumours,” the statement reads.
