Ramban, June 01: A tragic road mishap occurred in the Trana Khari area of Ramban district on Sunday when a massive boulder struck an Ecco van bearing registration number JK19A-6521, resulting in the death of the driver and injuries to three family members traveling in the vehicle.
Reports reaching Sachnews Jammu Kashmir, the van was hit by the boulder near Trana Khari, leading to the on-spot death of the driver, identified as Mohd Iqbal Khanday. The injured passengers, members of a single family, were initially shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal and later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for advanced treatment.
The injured have been identified as: Bahar Ahmed Malik (28), son of Ab. Rehman Malik, resident of Trana Khari, Mansoora Begum (22), wife of Bahar Ahmed, Mohd Saad (10 months), son of Bahar Ahmed.
Local police have taken cognizance of the incident and are investigating the matter.
