Awantipora Police Solve Bat Cleft Theft Case Within 24 Hours: Accused Arrested, 200 Stolen Clefts Recovered

Awantipora, August 26:

Police Awantipora solved a theft case by arresting accused person involved in the commission of crime.

Police in a statement to Sachnews Jammu Kashmir said, Police Post Toll Plaza  received a complaint from one person namely Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ghulam Ahmad Bhat resident of Chersoo Awantipora, that on 25 August 2025 unknown thieves have stolen 500 Bat Clefts from  from his Bat Factory located at Chersoo. 

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 180/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered in PS Awantipora and investigation was initiated. 

During the course of investigation Police  team under the supervision of Incharge Police Post Toll Plaza SI Ishfaq Ahmad by taking assistance of modern techniques including collection of CCTV footages of various locations learnt about the involvement of one accused person identified as Javid Ahmad Rather son of Ali Mohammed Rather R/o Kunjipora Pulwama.

The accused was subsequently arrested and taken into custody at the police station. Police also recovered 200 bat clefts from his possession. Officials said more arrests and recoveries are expected.

Further investigation in the case is underway.
