REASI: In a sustained humanitarian operation, the District Administration Reasi, with active support from the Indian Air Force, has so far delivered 94 quintals of essential ration to Sarhi village in Tehsil Bhomag.
Earlier, 25 quintals of ration were airlifted. Today, an additional 69 quintals were dropped to ensure uninterrupted food supplies for the residents.
The relief operation is being carried out under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner, Nidhi Malik.
The Sarhi area of Tehsil Bhomag remains isolated due to multiple landslides on the Reasi–Sarhi (via Tote) road, while the alternative Udhampur–Sarhi (via Moungri) route is blocked after the Thathi Bridge was washed away.
“Despite the challenging terrain and adverse weather, we are ensuring timely ration supply to Sarhi. Today, 69 quintals were successfully airdropped, and operations will continue further, subject to weather conditions,” said Deputy Commissioner Reasi.
The District Administration has reaffirmed that all possible assistance, including emergency medical services, will continue to be extended to remote and inaccessible areas affected by recent landslides and heavy rains.
