A Public Darbar was held today in Tral, Pulwama, as part of the government's public outreach and grievance redressal initiative. The event was presided over by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom (IAS) and was also attended by MLA Tral, Rafiq Ahmad Naikoo.
During the interactive session, the Deputy Commissioner engaged with the attendees, attentively listening to their concerns. He acknowledged the proactive participation of the public in the region’s development and governance.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner (DC) ,Dr. Basharat Qayoom assured the attendees that the administration is committed towards working in cohesion with the public to implement better governance practices and ensured timely resolution of their genuine grievances. He emphasized the primary objective of holding public darbars, its role in facilitating direct engagement between the administration and the people at their doorsteps ensuring easier access for citizens to voice their concerns and engage with governmental authorities.
The Deputy Commissioner directed officials to compile a comprehensive action report documenting all grievances raised during the session, along with the measures undertaken for their resolution.
The discussions encompassed a range of issues, including irrigation facilities , PMGSY roads and other key infrastructural needs.In response, the Deputy Commissioner assured targeted interventions to enhance borewell irrigation, recognizing its pivotal role in addressing agricultural challenges and improving water accessibility for farmers in the region.
Moreover,it was highlighted that majority of the issues raised by delegations have already been incorporated in various plans, with execution set to commence after plan approvals. Deputy Commissioner also approved Testing Equipment for a health care facility that was demanded by one of the delegations.
Additionally, horticulture subsidies and other certificates were distributed among eligible beneficiaries as part of the administration’s welfare initiatives.
In addition to MLA Tral, ADC Tral and various District and Sectoral officers attended the program.
