Anantnag, May 25: Reaffirming the National Conference’s (NC) commitment to inclusive governance and public welfare, senior party leader and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, on Saturday stated that the Omar Abdullah-led government is steering Jammu and Kashmir toward a path of stability, growth, and accountable governance.

During an outreach tour of Magreypora and Anzullah, Shah addressed local residents and reviewed the status of multiple development projects, including long-pending infrastructure and healthcare works. He praised the government’s decision to operationalize the long-delayed hospital in the Anzullah-Sarnal area, terming it a “historic move” that addresses a decade-old public demand.

“The NC believes in action, not hollow slogans. Our focus remains on improving healthcare, road infrastructure, education, and access to essential services,” Shah said, while also emphasizing the recent shifting of the maternity hospital to MABM Hospital as another example of NC’s development-first approach.

He further alleged that the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), during its tenure, failed the people through corruption, nepotism, and unfulfilled promises. “The crisis we face today — including the abrogation of Article 370 — is the direct result of PDP’s opportunistic politics. They owe an apology to the people,” Shah asserted.

Calling for expedited implementation of the water supply scheme in Magreypora-Achabal, Shah urged the district administration to ensure swift execution of already-sanctioned government projects. He also highlighted the poor condition of roads in the area and called for immediate macadamization and repairs to ease the burden on residents.

Shah engaged with local delegations and assured them of the National Conference’s continued focus on grassroots development and empowerment. “We will continue to be the voice of the people and work for peace, prosperity, and justice in Jammu and Kashmir,” he concluded.
