Tral, May 27:
A 55-year-old woman died after a poplar tree fell on her during rains accompanied by strong gusty winds in the Wagad village of Tral, located in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district, on Tuesday evening.
Local sources informed Sachnews that the deceased has been identified as Saleema, wife of Bashir Ahmad Dar, a resident of Wagad, Tral.
According to local residents, the incident occurred while Saleema and her family members were working in their kitchen garden, when a poplar tree suddenly fell on her. While she sustained fatal injuries, other family members had a narrow escape and were unharmed in the incident.
She was immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Tral, where doctors declared her brought dead.
