The Flying Squad of the ARTO Office Anantnag carried out an intensive traffic enforcement drive at various locations along the National Highway and in the Vailoo and Kokernag areas. The operation aimed to curb traffic violations, with a particular focus on the overloading of passenger vehicles, school transport, and goods carriers.
During the drive, several violators were penalized on the spot for non-compliance with road safety norms. In addition to enforcement, officials also engaged in awareness outreach, educating drivers and commuters about the dangers and legal consequences associated with overloading.
The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD) reiterated its firm commitment to promoting road safety and ensuring adherence to transport regulations. According to officials, approximately 65 challans were issued during the operation.
The department emphasized that such enforcement drives will be conducted regularly in the future to ensure commuter safety and uphold road discipline.
