Anantnag, June 26: Senior National Conference (NC) leader and District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, has called upon party workers to prepare actively for the upcoming Panchayat and Municipal elections, aiming to secure a strong majority in both rural and urban local bodies.
During a day-long tour of the Issoo Tailwani area, Shah emphasized the need for a decisive NC mandate to ensure effective governance and long-term solutions to public issues, particularly in the development of both rural and urban regions.
He praised the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and highlighted key developmental projects undertaken during his tenure, such as the sanctioning of the Mughal Road Tunnel, Sadhana Tunnel, widening of major roads, and the construction of flyovers across Jammu and Kashmir.
“These landmark initiatives are a testament to NC’s commitment to public welfare,” Shah said. “Unlike some political leaders who indulge in lip service and personal gains through nepotism and corruption, the National Conference is dedicated to transparent governance and meaningful development.”
Shah also lauded the NC government and district administration for addressing the long-pending demand of Issoo village by completing over 80% of the drinking water supply scheme, bringing much-needed relief to local residents.
He further demanded immediate macadamization of inner roads in Issoo, especially the Sheikh Mohalla via Jamia Masjid stretch, before September, asserting that these areas have long been neglected by politicians who treated people merely as vote banks.
Reaffirming NC's mission, Shah stated that the party stands for public justice, welfare, and inclusive growth, and expressed confidence in the party’s readiness for the upcoming elections.
Imran Amin Shah was accompanied by Block President Achabal Ab Salam Dar, as well as local leaders Fayaz Ahmad and Mushtaq Ahmad.
