New Delhi, June 27: The Delhi Prisons Department on Thursday issued a formal clarification regarding the health status of inmate Shabir Ahmad Shah, in response to social media rumors alleging a critical medical condition.
“Some rumours are reportedly being circulated on social media regarding the critical health condition of inmate Mr. Shabir Ahmad Shah, S/o Mr. Gulam Ahmad Shah,” reads a press release issued by the Office of the Director General (Prisons), signed by Arvind Kumar, Public Relations Officer, Delhi Prisons.
According to the statement, the inmate has been regularly provided with all necessary medical care and his condition is stable.
He was referred to Safdarjung Hospital, Delhi on 26/06/2025 for OPD consultation with respect to complaints of some lower urinary tract symptoms and he was admitted for further tests/ evaluation.
“All his reports have been found to be normal, and appropriate medical treatment is being provided to him at Safdarjung Hospital,” the press release confirmed.
