Anantnag, Aug,17: National Conference (NC) District Vice President Anantnag, Imran Amin Shah, launched a scathing attack on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), accusing it of deceiving the people of Jammu and Kashmir with “mere sloganeering and hollow promises.” He alleged that the party used “green dresses and flags” only to hoodwink the public for its own comfort and leisure, leaving the common people at the mercy of destiny.

Shah was addressing a public function at Bul-Bul Nowgam, where a large number of political activists, including former PDP workers, joined the NC. Welcoming the new entrants, he said it was “heartening” to see people realising the pro-people policies of the National Conference instead of “falling prey to self-centred parties whose only motto is personal comfort and power.”

Those who joined the NC include Showkat Ahmad, Tufeeq Ahmad Itoo, Reyaz Ahmad Parry, Gulzar Ahmad Sheikh, Aamir Ahmad, and others.

Highlighting the neglect of Bul-Bul Nowgam, Shah said that despite its political significance, PDP-led regimes failed to ensure development. “Whatever infrastructure Nowgam has today is due to the efforts of previous NC governments,” he remarked.

He further said that people are now “fed up with the dual standards of the PDP” and increasingly see their future in the NC.

Applauding the leadership of Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, Shah asserted that the NC is committed to restoring the dignity and honour of Jammu and Kashmir. “Our party has a long history of sacrifices and will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for the welfare of the people,” he said.

Hitting out again at the PDP, Shah alleged that it only survives on “false dreams and empty slogans,” while the NC remains steadfast in fulfilling its promises and pursuing comprehensive development across the state.

On this occasion, senior party functionaries including Block President Achabal Ab Salam Dar, Ghulam Mohiuddin Qasid, and Gull Mohammad Mir were also present and addressed the gathering.
