Shopian Police recovered Contraband Substance from Residential House

SHOPIAN, September 02:

In a decisive action against the drug menace, Shopian Police recovered contraband substances from the residential house of Bilal Ahmad Sheikh son of Mohd Shaban Sheikh resident of Urpora Nagbal, falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Zainapora.

Acting on reliable information, a police party from Police Station  Zainapora accompanied by the Executive Magistrate 1st Class, raided the location. During the search, 48 numbers of charas sticks weighing approximately 3.842 Kgs was recovered, Police officials said in a press statement issued to Sachnews.

A case under FIR No. 62/2025 has been registered at Police Station Zainapora under relevant sections of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is in progress to trace the forward and backward linkages of the accused. The operation was meticulously carried out by SDPO Zainapora Shri Waseem Ahmad-JKPS under overall supervision of SSP Shopian Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS.
