In a swift and decisive action, Shopian Police cracked two separate sheep theft cases, arrested two accused persons, and recovered 51 stolen sheep, bringing relief to affected families.
During investigation of case FIR No. 180/2025, Shopian Police acted promptly, zeroed in on suspects, and successfully recovered 44 stolen sheep. Two accused persons involved in the theft Ghulam Mohammad Dar son of Ghulam Qadir Dar and Mohammad Yousuf Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar, both residents of Jawalapora, Budgam have been arrested, police officials said in a press statement issued to Sachnews.
Further, in case FIR No. 183/2025, police recovered 07 stolen sheep. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other gang members who remain at large, and further confessions are expected as the investigation is in progress.The Police's swift action in solving the theft cases and recovering the stolen livestock has provided much needed relief to the local community.
The recovery was made by Police teams of SHO Police Station Shopian and IC Police Post Keegam under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Shopian Shri Imtiyaz Ahmad-JKPS and under overall supervision of SSP Shopian Shri Anayat Ali Chowdhary-IPS.
