Kulgam, March 24 : District Hospital Kulgam conducts its first ever successful total Hip replacement surgery under AB-PMJAY Ayushman Bharat scheme) Kulgam, 24 March: A Team of Doctors from District Hospital Kulgam conducted its first total Hip replacement surgery under ayushman Bharat scheme. The surgery team was headed by Dr Towseef Ahmad Bhat, Consultant orthopaedican and assisted by Dr Abid & Dr Danish.
The Anaesthesia and Critical team Support was headed by Dr Omer Bashir Consultant Anaesthesia in addition to technicians including Shabir Ahmad, Rifat Abdullah, Farooq Ahmad & other supporting staff. The entire process was done under the supervision of Dr A G Raina, Medical superintendent DH Kulgam who provided all logistic and moral support. The operated patient was a 47 year old female - a case of severe osteoarthritis right hip with pain and difficulty in walking. It is important to mention that such surgical procedures costs about Rs 2 to 2.5 lac in private setup but it was done under AB -PMJAY at free of cost.
DHSK Dr Jehangir Bakshi has congratulated the whole team for achieving this feat and stressed for further augmenting upon the health care services in peripheral hospitals so that patients at large are benifited.
