PAMPORE, JUNE 15:
Senior PDP leader and former MLA Pampore, Mir Zahoor Ahmad, has voiced serious concern over the acute shortage of irrigation water supply affecting Pampore and Kakpora areas. He blamed the government’s indifference for the unprecedented crisis that has gripped several villages, including Lethpora, Ladhoo, Kakpora, Naman, Laribal, Sethar, Qazigund, and Okhoo.
Mir highlighted that the non-functional irrigation pump stations at Lethpora and Kakpora have brought agricultural activities in these areas to a standstill, pushing farmers towards a drought-like situation at the peak of the cultivation season, Spokesperson told Sachnews in a press statement.
The PDP leader urged the administration to take immediate steps to restore the functioning of irrigation pumps to ensure uninterrupted water supply. He stressed that a prompt and effective government response is essential to safeguard the livelihoods of farmers and prevent further hardship for the local population.
